Scott Morrison, a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, was quoted in an article in the Washington Business Journal about Capital Behavioral Health LLC's lawsuit challenging the District of Columbia's takeover of United Medical Center.  Mr. Morrison represents the owner of Capital Behavioral, George Chopivsky.  Capital Behavioral is seeking ownership of the hospital itself as well as enforcement of a lease for certain psychiatric space in the hospital, based on a deal Mr. Chopivsky had in place prior to the District's controversial foreclosure of the facility.  Mr. Morrison explains, "If we're right, and the foreclosure was invalid, then the District is liable for the effect of that on [Capital Behavioral's] lease, which is worth millions and millions of dollars."
