David Halberstadter, a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, was quoted in an article in Daily Journal about the recent federal district court ruling regarding rights to Superman. US District Judge Wright II ruled in favor of Warner Brothers Entertainment and DC Comics Inc., rejecting an attempt by the heirs of Superman co-creator Joseph Shuster to recapture the copyright to the character despite a 1992 agreement. Mr. Halberstadter views the judgment as a deterrent to “attorneys who troll for copyrights to terminate from ‘trafficking’ in future copyright interests.” (“Superman Lawsuit Casts Wide,” October 19, 2012.)
