(CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today that it has been named one of the 2017 Top 60 Companies for Executive Women by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), which recognizes American corporations where women significantly influence decisions that impact their company's future and bottom line.

"Katten has a history of empowering women at all stages of their careers, and I thank NAFE for recognizing this," said Katten Chairman Roger P. Furey. "I commend our women leaders for their wisdom, experience and vision, all of which contribute to Katten's overall success but are particularly integral to the development of innovative programs that help women reach their professional goals here."

NAFE specifically highlighted Katten's programs, policies and benefits that are led by the women on the board of directors and executive committee. Also noted was the firm's proactive efforts to place women on "projects that stretch their skills" as well as targeted training and sponsorship programs offered to female associates and partners.

"This distinction underscores Katten's commitment to dedicating substantial time and resources towards policies and programs related to the recruitment, retention and advancement of women," said Katten's Chief Diversity Officer Leslie D. Minier. "It also demonstrates the importance of providing all employees with the support they need to realize their full potential as professionals."

The 2017 NAFE Top Companies application includes some 200 questions about female representation at all levels of companies, especially the corporate officer and profit-and-loss ranks. The vetting process includes tracking access to and usage of programs and policies that promote the advancement of women as well as the training and accountability of managers in relation to the number of women who advance.

"The NAFE Top 60 Companies for Executive Women are the leaders in the US that have moved women into top executive positions and created a culture where talented women are nurtured, promoted and thrive," says Betty Spence, president of NAFE. "We are very proud to honor their contributions to the advancement of women in the workplace."
